The Dixon Clan was registered with Clans of Ireland in January 2013. While the Dixons were orignally a sept of the Scottish Clan Keith, this branch of the family can trace its ancestory back in Meath to Edward Dixon (1516 – 1559).

Through marriage the Dixons of Meath are related to the Hussey family (Barons Galtrim) who claim descent from Rollo, Duke of Normandy, the Plunketts (2nd Baron Louth and 7th Earl of Fingal) and to many more untitled yet historic figures of note in Irish history.

This site will outline the rich and varied history of the Dixons of Meath outlining stories of the likes of the Rt. Hon. Francis Agard who was sent to Ireland by King Herny VIII and who was a member of the Privy Council of Ireland and is buried at Christchurch Cathedral in Dublin.

We hope you will enjoy the site and discovering the story of the Dixons of Meath.
