The Dixon clan are a sept of Clan Keith hereditary Marshals of Scotland. One Richard de Keith, a younger son, is said to be the progeninator of the name when his sons became known as “Dick’s sons” and a sept of Clan Keith was formed.
Known as Dickson in Scotland and Dixon in England, the sept eventually sided with the English in the Anglo-Scottish wars and accompanied Henry VIII’s forces to Ireland in the early 1500s.
Today, Dixons can be found all over the world but their hearland remains the British Isles.
This page is currently under construction and will be completed in the near future.
The Dixons are also connected to the Douglas and Campbell Clans of Scotland.
